Here are players selected to represent Wales at the Welsh Euro Challenge in Cardiff 15-17 Feb against England, Switzerland, Norway, Guernsey, Luxembourg and Scotland:
Charlotte Carey, seeded 11th for the event, lived up to her ranking and finished at that number. The World Junior Championships, being played in Guatemala 25-27th January 2013, was attended by players all over the globe, from every continent. Charlotte, along with Laura Pfefer of France, were the 2 European participants on show. After losing 1-4 to the number 1 seed, then beating New Zealand’s top player 4-0, it was a crunch match early on Saturday morning to make it through to the quarter finals. This was a tough ask with Lam of Hong Kong being too consistent and strong to win it 4-0. Charlotte picked herself up to defeat Enriquez of the host nation 4-2 to play for 9-12th place. The last match proved the toughest with Charlotte losing 3-4 (9-11 in the last) to finish joint 11th spot and take a $650 prize
Please find the draw for the weekend attached with starting times
Charlotte Carey - who was a reserve on the ITTF list for the World Junior Championships in Guatemala - has been invited by the world governing body to attend the finals this weekend
Carey has gained points throughout 2012 at the various events she competed in and raised her world ranking to 400 in the women's list
It is a first for any Welsh player to have been invited to the finals
All results will be live from Guatemala from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th here and on twitter @walesTT
