International schools report

After an eventful weekend of team matches the boy's pulled of two wins against Guernsey and Isle of Man, but lost out to stronger opponents in Scotland, England, Jersey and eventual winners Ireland

In the girl's team competition it was a similar story with Wales beating Guernsey but losing out to Scotland, England and Ireland who finished as champions

On day 2 the individual competition started and there was some great contests. Harry Langley and Matthew Francis finished 2nd in thier groups but lost out to strong opponents from England and Ireland.

Jack cole lost out in a tough group and reached the quarter finals of the consolation losing out to the Scotland number 1 player. Jake Simeone pulled out of his consolation match due to illness and Steffan Griffiths had suffered an injury the day before so had to withdraw from the singles event unfortunately.

In the girl's singles Victoria Brookes was the only girl to make it through to the main draw and lost out in close sets to an English opponent. Jamie Lee lost out 3-2 in the consolation quarters along with Bethany Brewer who lost at the same stage. Dawn Jones made it one step further and got a bronze medal after losing out to Scottish opposition. Lydia John came away with a consolation gold medal after beating the Scottish opponent who beat both Jamie Lee Harley and Dawn Jones.

Steffan Jones, who battled through injury with great determination al weekend, did not let his team mates down. His gained wales some valuable points for the team

Well done to all the players that played hard all weekend and gained valuable experience to carry forward to next year.
