Day 2 Report
With Angharad and Charlotte unable to play in the consolation events due to them reaching round 1 of the main draw, it was up to Chloe, Megan, Lewis, Conor and Alex to produce some needed results.
Conor had a major fight against the Russian Zakharov going 2-0 ahead. The Russian fought back strong and took the next 2 sets to level the match. The 5th was a close affair with Conor just losing out 11-7. The Russian went on to win the event later that day. Lewis on the next table enjoyed a nice 3-0 win against the Luxembourg player Lou Van Wambeke (12-10, 11-6, 11-8) in round 1. In the 2nd round he lost to local rival Igor Morais 11-6, 11-5, 11-5 to leave the competition.
Megan had a tough draw against eventual winner Andorin of France. After taking the first set comfortably, the French girl upped her game considerably and went through 3-1 (11-8, 4-11, 9-11, 3-11). Chloe also lost her first match against the Belgian Hackemack 3-1 (4-11, 3-11, 11-7, 9-11) to end all Welsh participation for the day.
