Daniel O'Connell won the U21 singles to go with the band 1 he won yesterday. In the final he beat Scottish number 1 junior Scott Barton 3-0.
Dean Cundy lost out in the QF to Daniel Swiatek 2-3.
Jac Jenkins made it to both finals he was entered in, cadets and U13. He was pushed into 2nd place both times by Chris Wheeler (British number 1).
Welsh players took most titles overall on both days of the event which is very pleasing
Additionally, the glamorgan junior team won the division 1 title down in Waterside today and will play in the Premier league next season
It happened in the Munster Open in December and now in Glasgow in January, the Welsh invasion continues at home events. Naomi Owen defended her title at the West of Scotland Open with a fine win against her French opponent Aurelie bernadet in the final. Naomi beat Gillian Edwards in the semi final.
The development camp will take place this Sunday at Sport Wales National Centre under the coaching guidance of Simon Oyler 11am-1pm
Congratulations to the following volunteers who have been selected to help at the Olympic & Paralympic Games this summer:
Olympics - Simon Oyler, Ron Davies and Nathan Thomas
Paralympics - Barry Robertson, Gaynor Robertson, Marian Davies, Jackie Williams, Peter Higgins and Ron Davies
Good Luck and enjoy the experience....
Last weekend, Angharad and Megan Phillips were the only representatives from Wales in the Sussex 2* event held at the impressive K2 Centre in Crawley. The event turned out to be anything but a 2*, with the field including three of the top five ranked juniors in England as well as the top three cadets. Also included in the field was Yuki Wat who recently arrived in England from Hong Kong. The organisers limited the field to twelve highly ranked players and provided financial prizes in an attempt to raise the profile and quality of female table tennis.
Entry forms are now available for the Welsh National Championships in the National Sports Centre in Cardiff on Saturday 3rd March for the Juniors and Sunday 4th March for the Seniors.
