Welsh Players Exit at EC

Doubles
Ryan & Stephen Jenkins lost out to number 4 seeds Karakasevic (Serbia) and Tokic (Slovenia) in a tight match -10, -8, -16. Naomi Owen and Charlotte Carey had a hard match versus the German’s Wu and Ivancan losing -6, -4, -9.

Singles
Angharad was first up in a battle of Britain against Kelly Sibley of England and lost out 4-0 (7, 6, 5, 2). Naomi was next but after winning a good first set lost to French/Chinese player Fang 4-1 (-6, 10, 3, 7, 4). Charlotte tried her best to get a win for Wales but couldn’t beat Karahodzina of Belarus with 0-4 (6, 6, 6, 11). Ryan had to play Croatian/Chinese player Tan Ruiwu but couldn’t get into the game and fell away 0-4 (4, 5, 4, 7) to end Wales’ participation at the Euro Championships 2011.

All the players fought as hard as they could all the time and proved what it means to wear the Red Welsh jersey
