European championships – singles events [Day 1]
Patrick Thomas and Steve Jenkins played against two players from Slovenia in the doubles event. The defensive tactics of the opposition put Patrick under pressure from the start and they went down 0-3.
Steve was next up in the 1st round of the singles against Marc Altermatt from Switzerland. He fought bravely but eventually lost 0-4.
Ryan and Patrick played their singles at 14.30 against Fegerl of Austria and Prestreshi of Kosova respectively. Ryan had one of the hardest draws of the round against the higher ranked Fegerl and lost in a brave 2-4 match. Paddy had a great win against the Kosivan winning 4-1 with thanks to Steve Jenkins for coaching him.
The ranking list has been ammended for the start of the new season, all catagories have had their points divided by 5 except the Dragon under 13 and Dragon under 11 where we start from scratch each season.

Wales continues to battle in the European Championship with emotions running high and low as they win and lose.
MEGAN AND CHARLOTTE SHINE IN EXETER
Welsh players had an excellent weekend at the Exeter Grand prix held at the University of Exeter Sports Park.
The following selections are announced by Ryan Jenkins, National Coach, for the Namur Open - Newcastle GP - English Open.
The first days play has brought mixed results for Wales. They drew England first with Adam Robinson opening the play against Darius Khight. Adam dominated Darius winning 3-0 (8, 6 and 7). This was a good start and hopes were high when, in the second game, Steven Jenkins played Paul Drinkhall. However, Pauls' power was too great for Steven even though Steven put up a brave fight in the 2nd and 3rd legs. Paul won 3-0 (4, 9 and 9).
WELSH PLAYERS WIN MEDALS IN POLAND
Congratulations to Paul Karabardak and Sara Head for their achievements in the Polish Open. Paul won silver medals in the Individual and team Class 7 event. Sara took silver in the womens class 3 event.

CHIPPENHAM PROVES POSITIVE FOR PLAYERS FROM WALES

Wales v Filton Academy
On the 30th September Wales will take on the biggest and most prestigious UK college in a one off test match. The event will consist of a 6v6 matchup and include male and female players. Filton College won the silver medal at the European College Championships back in 2006 at it will be a good test for our players.
