Beth Roberts of the Ael-y-Bryn Table Tennis Club, reached the final of the Girls under 13 Open event in the Derby 4 Star Tournament on Saturday 14th of March.

Ryan Jenkins retains his Welsh Title and Naomi Owen regained her Welsh Tile, recently at the Welsh institute of Sport, Cardiff.
Ryan took part in an enthralling final against his brother Stephen winning 11-4,11-6,8-11,9-11,13-11, one of the closest finals in years.
Naomi Owen took on last years winner Naomi Wilson and came out on top winning 11-4,11-7,11-3.
Mark Simon came all the way from Middlesbrough to beat Tony Collins 12-10,11-2,6-11,11-7 in the veteran final.
England makes another clean sweep, winning the Junior Boys and Girls, and the Cadet Boys and Girls gold medals.
Wales won two silver medals. Patrick Thomas won the silver in the Junior Boys and his sister Chloe Thomas won the silver in the Cadet Girls.
Wales also won two bronze medals, in the Cadet Boys with Lewis Williams and in the Cadet Girls with Hannah Avery
England make a clean sweep of the team events. Winning the Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Cadet Boys and Cadet Girls.

The championships start at 17:00 on Friday night the 13th March 2009 with two sets of team matches, Saturday start 09:30 with three sets of team matches and Sunday 09:00 will start with the Singles groups ending with the finals at approx 13:00 hrs
The Newport Junior Open 2009
The Newport Junior Open was held on Sunday 1 March. With one of the biggest entries ever it was bound to be a very busy day. Competitors from all over Wales and 1 from England arrived at Newport ready to battle for the title of Newport Open Champion.
