4 Nations International Tournament (22 – 24 January 2009)

Three visiting teams (boys and girls) from England, France (Lorraine) and Luxembourg joined two Welsh teams for this years 4 Nations International Tournament in Cardiff. All the players were aged between 9 and 12 and they provide some excellent displays of table tennis over the three days.

The standard of play was very high but all the Welsh players acquitted themselves very well. In the singles competition the highest placed Welsh players were Beth Roberts (5th) and Ryan Oyler (6th).

Welsh players:
Boys – Ryan Oyler, Ashley Perry, Stefan Jeczalik, Kieran Tann, Thomas Haydon & Alexandros Williams
Girls – Beth Roberts, Sasha Denby, Lauren Cundy, Laura Edwards , Catlin Williams & Carys Roberts.

The 4 Nations / Good preparation for the British Primary Schools
Welsh players gain valuable international experience at the 4 Nations and the Welsh selectors get the chance to see how the players perform over three days against top quality foreign opposition.

The Welsh selectors will be meeting very shortly to pick teams for this years British Primary Schools Championships and all the players that took part in the 4 Nations are eligible for selection.
