SILVER MEDALS FOR THE PHILLIPS TWINS

Megan and Angharad Phillips achieved an excellent silver medal in the Under 14 girls category at the recent British Schools Championships held in Cardiff. This is a very high standard event with participation of some of the best players from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man. The tournament started at 4 o clock on Friday 27th June and finished promptly at 3 o clock on Sunday 29th to allow all the visiting countries to head home in good time.

Other medals for Wales were bronze for Taylor Williams in the Under 14 girls and a bronze for Sammy Sharif in the Under 14 boys. The Under 16 boys B team (Cameron Thomas & Sean Lancey), the Under 18 boys (Patrick Thomas & Ceri James) and the Under 14 girls B team (Hannah Avery & Chloe Thomas) made it into the semi finals but were beaten into 4th place.

All the Welsh players acquitted themselves well, but a special mention should go to Cameron Thomas and Taylor Williams for consistently producing a high standard of play over the whole weekend.
