BRILLIANT RYAN RETURNS AND LIFTS WALES.
It has been two years since Ryan Jenkins last put on a Welsh shirt and if you thought that in this period, his game might have fallen off then think again. Ryan Jenkins was quite outstanding in Luxembourg he played some brilliant Table Tennis in both the singles and team competitions. In the singles he reached the last eight defeating top players from Ukraine, Russian and Belgium before eventually losing 12 – 10 in the seventh game to San Marino Chinese import Wang Da Qi. In the team competition he won five out of six singles matches and together with his brother Stephen Wales defeated Austria and Ukraine before losing in the quarterfinal to Belgium.
Wales sent Ryan, Stephen, Patrick Thomas, Naomi Wilson and Chloe Thomas to Luxembourg.
Stephen Jenkins played very well in the doubles of the team event while Patrick Thomas recorded some good wins in the singles event. Naomi Wilson and Chloe Thomas lost all their matches in the team competition but put in some credible performances in the Women’s Singles event.
