SELECTION POLICY.
An update to the selection policy has bee published and will take its place in the policy section in due course. For now read the update here .....
Only those athletes that are judged to be upwardly mobile will be considered by the selection committee for Welsh squads and international competition.
Welsh Closed Championships.
Only those athletes that make every effort to participate in the Welsh Closed will be considered for international selection. An athlete that fails to participate but is judged by the selection committee to have made every effort to participate will be considered for selection.
Pre Event Camp/s.
If an athlete has been selected to represent Wales at a specific event that athlete must make every effort to attend the pre event training camp/s. If the selection committee feels that the selected athlete has not made every effort to attend pre event camp/s that athlete will be de-selected and replaced by a reserve.
Confidentiality.
Selection is a difficult process and takes into account many elements. Sadly for each player selected for an event there are generally a number who will be quite naturally (and understandably) disappointed. This we regret, but you will appreciate that this is often an inevitable outcome of selections in all sports and accordingly TTAW will not enter into correspondence in relation to particular selection decision.
The very nature of selection discussions and decisions are of course sensitive, relating as they do to a range of individuals and as such must remain confidential
All members of the selection committee have signed confidentiality agreement forms and this means that no selector can breach his obligation of confidentially.
