TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP OF WALES SECOND ROUND REPORT
Seniors, Veterans and Juniors Report.
SENIORS DIVISION 1.
Bridgend ‘A’ remain at the top with convincing wins over Cardiff ‘B’ and Cardiff ‘C’ with the unbeaten Stephen Gertsen leading the way. Cardiff ‘A’ look determined to retain the title winning their matches against Cardiff ‘C’ and Swansea ‘A’ to stay in 2nd place. Swansea ‘A’ and Eastern Valley need to start winning to avoid the relegation places. The battle to top the averages is very tight with S.Gertsen top and Neil Wright (Cardiff A) and Neil Page (Bridgend A) in joint 2nd. place.
SENIORS DIVISION 2.
This division is starting to look a 2 horse race with the unbeaten veteran Newport side retaining top spot by beating North Gwent A and Swansea B. However the young bloods of TTK Greenhouse A are determined to try and overhaul them recording good wins over Swansea B and Bridgend B. Tim Heaps (Carmarthen) remains unbeaten and tops the averages with Ray Goulding (Newport) in 2nd. place and Cameron Thomas (TTK Greenhouse) in 3rd.
SENIORS DIVISION 3
Bridgend ‘C’ remain at the top of the table with 2 good wins to keep their unbeaten record. Swansea ‘C’ is in 2nd. place and look to be their only challengers.
Neil Fraser (Bridgend C) continues to top the averages with the unbeaten James Kelly ( Bridgend C) in 2nd. and Sammy Sharif (Swansea C) in 3rd.
VETERANS DIVISION
Cardiff ‘A’ remain unbeaten and at the top of the table recording wins over Thornbury 7-0 and Y Morfa ‘A’ 4-3. Eastern Valley moved into 2nd. with convincing wins over Swansea ‘B’ and Thornbury with Y Morfa A and Eddie Thomas TTL in joint 3rd. George Evans (Cardiff A) remains unbeaten at the top of the averages, Steve Eades (Cardiff A) in 2nd. and Tony Collins, Ray Goulding in 3rd & 4th. The only other unbeaten player is Regina Donavon (Cardiff B) in 5th.
JUNIORS DIVISION 1.
The Eastern Valley trio of Patrick Thomas, Lewis Williams & Chloe Thomas played really well beating Cardiff A 6-1 and their nearest challengers Swansea A 5-2 to top the table and remain unbeaten. Patrick remains unbeaten and tops the averages with Chloe and Lewis in the top 10. Ceri James (Swansea A) is in 2nd. and Daniel O’Connell (Bridgend) in 3rd.
JUNIORS DIVISION 2.
Leaders Swansea ‘B’ lost their unbeaten record to Bridgend ‘B’ but remain top on game difference Sammy Sharif (Swansea B) and Alex O’Connell (Bridgend B) both remain unbeaten with Sammy topping the averages and Alex in 2nd. with Scott Cundy in 3rd.
JUNIORS DIVISION 3.
In what appears to be an open race 3 teams have 8 points with game difference having a big say in the positions leaving Bridgend ‘C’ top with Swansea ‘D’ 2nd and TTK Greenhouse ‘B’ 3rd. In the 1st round of matches TTK took Swansea’s unbeaten record 4-3 and in the 2nd round Swansea turned the tables on the previously unbeaten Bridgend 4-3. In a close contest to be the top of the averages Danielle Tyler TTK B leads the way with Sean Lancey Swansea in 2nd and Ashley Stavrakis Bridgend in 3rd.
JUNIORS DIVISION 4
Ael y Bryn with 2 fine wins took over at the top of the table on game difference from TTK Greenhouse ‘D’. Jaydn Jackson (Ael Y Bryn) tops the averages from Beth Roberts (Ael Y Bryn) with Sadie Edwards (TTK) in 3rd.place.
