The Newport Cadet Open Table Tennis Championships were held Sunday 9th December. Competitors from all over Wales descended on Newport Velodrome to compete in 3 age categories Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15.
The under 11 were play on a round robin basis where Sasha Denby for the girls and Stefan Jeczalik for the boys came out on top. The under 13s and under 15s were split into groups of 4 to play a round robin the top 2 in each group went through to the main knockout event. After some very exciting battles which at one point pitched two brothers against each other the winners were;
Charlotte Cary (Ebbw Vale) and Lewis Williams (Brynmawr) in the Under 13s.age category Chloe Thomas (Tredegar) and Daniel O’Connell (Abertillery) won in the Under 15s
