Are You Insured?

Last year a number of clubs failed to renew their insurance policy covering club equipment – if you are one of these clubs you will not automatically receive forms for this year. If you were insured last year you will be sent renewal forms shortly.

Equipment Insurance
Equipment stored at Sports Centres, Community Centres, etc. are not necessarily insured under the Centre’s own insurance policy. In fact, not every Centre will actually have “contents” insurance. It is obviously important to insure club equipment as it can be very expensive to replace. All equipment purchased with money from SPORTLOT, Sports Council for Wales grants, or Foundation for Sport & the Arts is required to be insured as a condition of the grant aid.

The TTAW have an “All Risks” insurance policy with Thomas & Byrne Associates of Swansea The policy covers equipment, e.g. tables, nets, surrounds, coaching robots, etc., and trophies, owned by clubs that are affiliated to the Table Tennis Association of Wales.

The cost of insuring equipment and trophies is:
• £1 for each £100 new replacement value of equipment (with a £50 excess on each claim).
or
• £1.80 for each £100 new replacement value of trophies (with a £50 excess on each claim).

There is a minimum premium payable of £10 per club.
