The weekend of the 7th,8th and 9th of September saw a feast of top class International Table Tennis at the John Bright Sports Complex in Llandudno

Many of the competitors taking part were former full International players.

The event is traditionally dominated by a very strong English squad but the gap is gradually closing and Wales did enjoy some success.
In the team event, the over 40’s men, comprising of Steve Hall, Mark Simon and Jeff Rigby came away with a Silver medal as runners up to England. The remainig Welsh Teams all came away with creditable third places.

In the individual events, Steve Hall and Mark Simon again did well and reached the semi – final stage before pairing up to gain yet another Silver medal in the doubles.
Defending over 40’s womens champion from Wales, Regina Donavon looked on course to retain her title at one stage but was unfortunate to be struck down by a stomach bug and forced to withdraw.
Roger Grech from Wales came away with a Gold medal in the over 50’s mens plate event.
