The Table Tennis Association of Wales is seeking 3 project managers to establish secondary schools leagues within the three areas specified below
If TTAW can obtain further funding it is hoped that other areas may be able to be considered in future years
Initial Designated areas:
Newport & district
Wrexham & district
Rhondda Valley and district
The managers will be appointed on a self employed basis
The project manager fee will be £5000 payable as set out in the Project Terms below

Project Terms
Objective 1
Establishment of a self-financing secondary schools “Progress League” in the designated area. At least 12 teams from at leased three separate schools of 4 registered players (3 in a team + reserve) + an adult team captain
The players must be new players as opposed to those already known/affiliated to TTAW
League to operate on central venue basis at least every 2 weeks for minimum of 16 sessions per season
Project tasks to include:
Finding venue with tables
Marketing to schools
Set up of fixtures/results & general communication system
Email results dissemination system
Arranging trophies
Initial running of League - but crucially finding of sufficient volunteer adults to run & maintain the league & deal with results, fixtures, finance, talent identification etc on a sustainable basis
The Progress League must be in an area within realistic range of an existing local league. The local league must be consulted & efforts made to involve them as much as possible. Children to be encouraged to join local league when feasible & those keen enough to get involved in other TTAW competitions & performance pathway
The Progress League must be within range of existing club(s) so that children can attend those also for more play/coaching if they are interested
Objective 2
Establishment of one annual Regional Secondary Schools singles competition ensuring at least 24 entrants. Would not expect our existing players to be entering- only new schools players
Tasks to include
Finding & arranging venue
Dissemination of entry forms as widely as possible
Marketing to ensure entrants
Arranging the event on the day with appropriate volunteer assistance
Results distribution
Finding volunteers prepared to run it in future years
Project Terms
1. No fixed number of hours required. Payment is based on success rather than the number of hours expended
2. Fee of £5000 payable as follows:
£1000 payable on appointment
£1000 payable 2 months after appointment subject to the board being satisfied acceptable progress has been made
£1000 payable a further 2 months later subject to the board being satisfied acceptable progress has been made
£2000 on the board being satisfied the project targets have been achieved. Normally the board would expect that at least 4 sessions to have run smoothly
The board would also at that stage receipt of acceptable evidence that sufficient volunteers are in place to run the league acceptably for the current and future years including a satisfactory documented plan showing how continuation will be dealt with & by whom
3. The Project Manager will at all times be self-employed and no employer/employee relationship is to arise
4. Expenses budget of maximum £500 to be utilised for initial venue costs etc
5 No travelling expenses will be paid
NB The TTAW Tournaments Officer would have responsibility for running an annual National Secondary Schools Competition- winner to have automatic entry into UK School Games Team
