Umpires Blue Badge

Congratulations to Jackie Williams of Wrexham who is the first Blue Badge Umpire in Wales. This will mean that she is eligible to be selected to umpire at the Olympics

BETTY GRAY WINS GOLD

Betty Gray MBE became the European 85+ Doubles Champion at the European Veteran Championships held in Rotterdam recently. Betty, the TTAW President, together with her partner Martha Goransson of Sweden added the European to her World title. Has Wales ever had a combined World and European Champion before?

Betty also won a bronze medal in the 85+ Ladies Singles, losing to the eventual winner.

George Evans won a bronze medal in the 70-74 Men's Singles age group, also losing to the eventual winner.

Steve Hall had a good tournament getting to a credible 4th round in the 40-49 Men's Singles age category.

Congratulations to them all.

WELSH PRIMARY SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS - JUNE 27th 2007

In all 11 schools entered 22 teams and the competition went smoothly with all the children competing enthusiastically and sportingly, although there were different levels of skills all the competitors enjoyed themselves and the competition progressed without any delays mainly thanks to the group helpers, teachers, parents and grandparents who ensured that the children had this opportunity to sample competitive table tennis in a good atmosphere.

Lewis Williams & Alexander O’Connell of Beaufort Hill ‘A’ were the outright winners narrowly beating Lee Morgan & James Lewis of Gwyrosedd ‘A’.
