Naomi Owen of Llandrindod Wells won the women's singles and the women's under 21 singles at the Cardiff Open (part of the British Grand Prix Circuit) last weekend. Naomi played some excellent table tennis to beat Michelle Cohen of England in the final. Natasha Rees of Neath had a very good weekend getting to the final of the women's under 21 only to find Naomi in tremendous form.
Stephen Jenkins of Ystrad had a good tournament, getting to the final of the men's singles but found Gavin Rumgay of Scotland too good on the day.
The English Table Tennis Association also took the opportunity to present Ryan Jenkins with the Grand Prix overall winner's Trophy for last year (players get points for winning each event and they are added up to give the overall winner for the year).
