Melbourne 2006 - Disappointment For Adam As He Loses In Semi-final

25th March, 2006

Adam Robertson went out at the semi-final stage in the Games today losing 4-0 to William Henzell the Australian number one.

Henzell had already seen off number one seed Yang from Singapore and it was a tough ask for young Adam. He lost the 1st game 11-5 but had chances in the second and third - only losing those sets 11-9 & 13-11 respectively before Henzell finished the match off in the 4th.

The Games are not yet over for Adam who will now focus on an equally tough match tomorrow against Toriola the Nigerian for the bronze medal. Toriola who earlier in the competition beat Ryan Jenkins in a fantastic 7 game thriller himself lost to Achanta - the top Indian player - in his semi.

It is worth noting that at the last Games in Manchester bronzes were awarded to both losing semi finalists but this has been changed for these Games.

The final will be between Achanta and Henzell.
