About The TTAW

The Table Tennis Association Of Wales (TTAW) was originally founded in 1921 and Wales was a founding member of the ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) in 1926. H. Roy Evans OBE was, for a 20-year period, the President of the ITTF, and, as the world's leading official he was responsible for ensuring the sport's inclusion as an Olympic Sport in 1988. Since 1989 there have been many changes in Welsh Table Tennis. The TTAW is now run by the Board of Directors that is responsible to the National Executive Committee.

The TTAW now has more than 1000 members and 10 constituent leagues, employing a full-time national coaching officer and a full-time National Development Officer. The TTAW is funded from grants by the Sports Council for Wales, and is managed mainly by voluntary staff, as it is a non-profit making service. The National Executive Committee of the TTAW consists of representatives of the main leagues and qualifying community clubs, the sub-committees co-ordinators the Management Committee.

The TTAW became a Company Limited by Guarantee on 28th May 2003.

Web site

The new TTAW web site was launched in January, 2007. It is hoped that is will become a valuable resource for the dissemination of news and information about all areas of table tennis in Wales. It was designed and developed by Paul Robertson. If you have any suggestions or comments about the web site, please submit them on the contact page.
